Agreement to these terms

By using Bulkhead Repair Jacksonville you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

Bulkhead Repair Jacksonville is an information resource for waterfront property owners in Northeast Florida with existing bulkhead and seawall problems, and a way to request a repair assessment. It is published by Barefoot Marine Construction as a sister site to barefootmarine.com. Assessments and any resulting work are carried out by Barefoot Marine Construction under Certified General Contractor #1533461, a Florida state certification issued through the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.

Submitting an assessment request is not a contract for work. It does not obligate you to anything, and it does not obligate anyone to perform work.

The guidance published here is general

Everything published on this site describes how waterfront structures behave in general: how they are built, how they fail, and how those failures are typically evaluated and addressed.

It is not an engineering opinion about your structure. Your wall has specific conditions — soils, water depth, construction details, anchoring, loading history — that cannot be assessed from a web page, and that determine what is actually appropriate for it.

No repair method described here should be selected without an inspection of actual site conditions. Nothing on this site constitutes a representation that a particular approach will work on your property.

No professional advice

Nothing here is engineering, legal, insurance or financial advice.

Where structural questions are involved, a licensed professional engineer is the appropriate authority. For permitting, the relevant agencies are. For coverage questions, your insurance carrier and your policy documents are. For legal questions, an attorney is.

Where this site discusses those topics, it does so to help you ask better questions of the right people — not to substitute for them.

Safety

Damaged waterfront structures and the ground around them can be hazardous. Soil that feels firm underfoot is not evidence that there is material beneath it, and a wall that is standing is not evidence that it is stable.

Do not climb on a damaged or leaning wall, walk on ground you suspect is undermined, or enter the water to inspect or photograph a structure. Photograph from stable ground, at a distance if necessary.

You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone on your property.

Contractor relationships

Assessments and any resulting work are performed by Barefoot Marine Construction under Certified General Contractor #1533461. Any agreement for work is between you and Barefoot Marine Construction, is separate from these terms, and is governed by its own contract.

You are entitled — and encouraged — to verify that licence independently before any work begins. The Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation publishes a free public lookup at https://www.myfloridalicense.com/wl11.asp?mode=0. The same is worth doing with any contractor you consider, not only us.

Submitting an assessment request does not create a contract, and nothing on this site constitutes an offer to perform work on particular terms.

Accuracy

This site is written to be accurate and is reviewed periodically. Even so, published information can become outdated, and regulations, practices and conditions change.

We make no warranty that the content is complete, current or error-free, and it is provided on an "as is" basis.

Your submissions

By submitting an assessment request you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you have the right to share any photographs you upload.

You grant permission for your submission and photographs to be used by Barefoot Marine Construction to assess your structure. You do not grant permission for them to be published — publication of project photography requires separate written agreement.

Do not submit anything unlawful, anything belonging to someone else without their permission, or anything you would not want Barefoot Marine Construction to see.

Intellectual property

You may read, print and share pages for your own non-commercial use, including sending them to your board, your insurer or another contractor. You may not republish substantial portions as your own content or use them commercially without permission.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Barefoot Marine Construction is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of Bulkhead Repair Jacksonville or reliance on its content.

This does not limit any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
